Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 4 chai tea bags
- 1 cup cane sugar
- 1 cup almond milk
- 4–6 squares dark chocolate, chopped
- 1–2 tbsp chai syrup
- 1 tbsp cacao powder
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- Small pinch sea salt
Instructions
- Prepare the Chai Syrup: Boil water in a saucepan. Add tea bags and steep for about 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and stir in cane sugar until dissolved. Add vanilla extract and let cool.
- Make the Hot Chocolate: In another saucepan, combine almond milk and chopped dark chocolate over medium heat. Stir continuously until melted. Mix in chai syrup, cacao powder, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and sea salt. Whisk until smooth.
- Serve: Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream and chai spice if desired.
