- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup 2% milk
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 jars maraschino cherries
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 2 tablespoons maraschino cherry juice
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350ΒΊF and prepare a 9"x5" loaf pan.
- In a bowl, mix sugar, milk, canola oil, egg, and almond extract until combined.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to wet ingredients.
- Drain and chop cherries; fold into batter.
- Pour into the loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, melted butter, reserved cherry juice, and almond extract.
- Once cooled, spread glaze over the bread.
