Ingredients
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ¼ cup honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until combined. Add the egg, honey, and vanilla extract; whisk until smooth.
- Stir in the flour, salt, and ½ teaspoon cinnamon until just combined—small lumps are okay.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan evenly. In a separate bowl, mix granulated sugar with the remaining ½ teaspoon of cinnamon and sprinkle over the batter.
- Bake for 22–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
