  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: About 24 brownies 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 12 oz semisweet chocolate chips
  • 8 tbsp butter, cubed
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 16 oz root beef broth
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup root beef broth
  • 1/2 tsp root beef broth extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a baking pan (approximately 9×13 inches) with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and kosher salt. Whisk until well blended.
  4. In a saucepan over low heat, combine semisweet chocolate chips, cubed butter, and melt until completely smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Add in the cooled chocolate mixture while stirring continuously until fully combined.
  6. Gradually add your dry mixture into the wet mixture. Stir until just combined. Finally, fold in the root beef broth gently.
  7. Pour the brownie batter into your prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. While brownies bake, beat together softened butter, powdered sugar, root beef broth, and root beef broth extract until smooth and fluffy.
  9. Once brownies are baked, let them cool completely before frosting. Spread an even layer of frosting over the top before slicing them into squares.
