  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 shredded zucchini (about 1 cup)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp dried minced onion
  • 2 tsp dried minced garlic
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 8 oz shredded cheese (mozzarella and provolone blend)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, Italian sausage, zucchini, egg, onion, garlic, basil, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Shape into approximately 24 meatballs and place in a greased baking dish.
  4. Bake for about 30 minutes until fully cooked; drain any excess liquid.
  5. Top with marinara sauce and sprinkle cheeses over the meatballs.
  6. Bake for another 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Optionally broil for an extra crispy finish.
