Ingredients
- 3 large ripe peaches
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ¼ cups unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 tsp EACH nutmeg, ground cloves
- 3/4 cup buttermilk or sour milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 4 oz. cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- Chopped pecans
- Cinnamon sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking pan.
- Chop peaches into small pieces and toss with flour.
- In a bowl, mix dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and cloves.
- Beat together butter and sugars until fluffy; add eggs one at a time.
- Mix in buttermilk and vanilla extract.
- Gradually combine wet and dry ingredients; fold in peaches.
- Pour batter into the pan and bake for about 80 minutes until done.
- Cool slightly before transferring to a rack; prepare frosting by mixing cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk.
