- 2 cups diced banana peppers
- 1 lb mild ground turkey
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 3/4 cup evaporated milk
- 1 1/2 cups shredded parmesan cheese
- 1 cup uncooked orzo pasta
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
- 1 heaping tsp minced garlic
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
Instructions
- In a large pot over medium heat, sauté olive oil and butter. Add onion, banana peppers, green pepper, and minced garlic; cook until tender.
- Add ground turkey to the pot and brown it for about 8-10 minutes.
- Pour in chicken broth and evaporated milk; stir in salt and spices. Bring to a gentle boil.
- Add uncooked orzo pasta; reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-12 minutes until al dente.
- Stir in parmesan cheese and cream cheese until melted; adjust seasoning before serving hot.
