  • ½ tsp each: salt, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ¼ tsp each: dried thyme, rosemary
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch + ¼ cup cold water (for slurry)

Instructions

  1. Season cubed sirloin with salt and spices; coat with flour.
  2. Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat; brown the seasoned beef in batches and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, melt butter; sauté onions and garlic until soft.
  4. Add beef broth and bouillon cube; stir in herbs and bring to a simmer.
  5. Return beef to the pan and simmer for 20–25 minutes until tender.
  6. To thicken gravy, mix cornstarch with cold water; stir into the sauce until desired thickness is reached.
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving over rice or potatoes.
