- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 4 brioche buns
- Pickle slices
- Butter (for toasting buns)
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Marinate chicken in buttermilk and hot sauce for at least 1 hour.
- Whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, hot sauce, smoked paprika, lemon juice, salt, and pepper for the sauce; refrigerate.
- Combine flour and spices in a shallow dish.
- Dredge marinated chicken in flour mixture and fry in heated oil until golden brown (4–6 minutes per side).
- Toast brioche buns with butter until golden.
- Assemble by spreading sauce on both bun halves and layering with fried chicken and pickles.
