- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¾ cup strawberry jam or preserves
- Sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
- In another bowl, cream softened butter with granulated and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients until just mixed.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, flatten into discs, and create wells in half of them.
- Fill wells with strawberry jam and top with remaining discs; crimp edges to seal.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden; cool before decorating.
