Instructions
- Preheat the waffle iron.
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, melted butter, pureed strawberries (reserving some for topping), and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients gently until just mixed; the batter may be slightly lumpy.
- Spray the preheated waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray and pour in the appropriate amount of batter. Cook until golden brown (about 4–5 minutes).
- Serve warm topped with reserved fresh strawberries and whipped cream if desired.
